Trichoceros is a genus of around ten orchids found in the Andean mountain range.
The genus is distributed from southern Colombia to Bolivia in montane forest.
Plants in this genus are epiphytes and terrestrials. Flowers resemble tiny flies and is dependant pseudo copulation, on them for pollination.
Grow plants in cool to intermediate temperatures in medium amounts of light. Plants are best grown in an open shallow mix such as sphagnum moss or tree fern. They can also be mounted. Plants require high humidity and regular waterings. Mist daily to keep the roots moist and Water 4 to 7 times a week.
The genus is named the hairy-horn like appendages on the column.
