Stanhopea maculosa is a Stanhopea species found in Mexico.


Plants are found on coastal mountain slopes growing on trees in Nayarit, Colioma, Sonora, Michoacan and Guerrero states of Mexico at elevations of 1000 to 1500 meters.


Plants bloom from spring to summer with two to ten 10 cm flowers. Flowers are fragrant with the scent of apricots.


Plant should be grown in shade. Keep in cool temperatures and water regularly. Pot in medium fir bark or sphagnum moss. Keep humidity high. Plants are usually grown in baskets. Plant needs a distinct winter dry season to bloom.
