Stanhopea florida is a species of Stanhopea which is found in South America.


Plants are found growing in dry montane forest at elevations of 1000 to 1800 meters in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru


Plant blooms in summer with five to nine flowers. Flowers are fragrant and 8 to 13 cm wide.


Plant should be grown in shade. Keep in intermediate temperatures and water regularly. Pot in medium fir bark or sphagnum moss. Keep humidity high. Plants are usually grown in baskets.
