Stanhopea connata is a species in the genus Stanhopea.


Plants are found growing in forest in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru at 1000 to 2000 meters in elevations.


Flower is 12 to 14 cm wide. Plant blooms during winter to early spring with 2 to 5 flowers. Flowers contain an unpleasant fragrance.


Plant should be grown in shade. Keep in cool to intermediate temperatures and water regularly. Pot in medium fir bark or sphagnum moss. Keep humidity high. Plants are usually grown in baskets.
