Stanhopea cirrhata is a warm growing Stanhopea species found in Central America.


Plant is found in hot decidious forest hanging on tree branches that are close to water in Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua at elevations of 100 to 800 meters.


Plant blooms in the fall with up to two flowers. Flowers are fragrant and 6cm wide.


Plant should be grown in shade. Keep in warm temperatures and water regularly. Pot in medium fir bark or sphagnum moss. Keep humidity high. Plants are usually grown in baskets.
