Spiranthes spiralis is a plant of the family Orchidaceae and the genus Spiranthes


Plant is found in grasslands, dunes, and marshes of Ireland, Great Britain, Denmark, Portugal, Spain, France, Balaeric Islands, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czechloslavakia, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Yugoslavia, Albania, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Iran, and the western Himalayas at elevations up to 1400 meters


Plant blooms from summer to fall with many 7mm wide fragrant flowers.


Grow in moderate lighting. Plant grows in cool to cold temperatures and should be water regularly during growing season and reduced during flowering. Reduce watering during dormancy period in the winter and mist occasionally. Pot with 70% fine to medium grade perlite and 30% soil or clay peat
