Sobralia powellii is a member of the genus Sobralia
Plant blooms from spring to summer with several successive 16 cm wide flowers.
Plant are found growing in the wet montane forest of Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 500 to 1500 meters
Grow in partial to full sun usually in warm temperatures. Plants can be grown in sandy soil or bark with perlite. Keep the mix moist but not wet during growing season. Reduce watering after leaves develop. Never let the mix dry out for long periods
