Sedirea abbreviated as Sdr. in horticultural trade, is a genus comprised of around two species.


The genus is distributed in China, Japan and Korea


Plants have leathery leaves and lack a pseudobulb. Flowers differ from Aerides by having a long nectar spur and the lack of a prominent column foot.


Plants grow in moderately bright light in cool to intermediate temperatures. Keep plants in temperatures beteween 50º to 75º F. Water regularly and allow the medium to dry out between waterings. Plant should be potted in a open mix of full treefern or 60% bark 40% perlite. Keep humidity around 40 to 60%


The genus is Aerides spelled backwards, since this species was initially described as an Aerides.
