Pygmaeorchis, is a small genus of two species from the orchid family (Orchidaceae).


They are found in Southeastern Brazil.


Plants have round pseudobulbs and eight pollinas.


Plants should be grown in medium fir bark with moderate lighting. Plant is a intermediate to warm growing orchid species. Plants prefer dry outs between watering. Water approximately once a week. Assure that the roots are never soggy. Plant are best mounted on cork or tree fern.


This genus is named the greek words pygmaios which means small and orchis which means orchid, referring to the small size of the plant.
