Prosthechea livida is an epiphytic orchid from the genus Prosthechea.


Plant blooms in the winter with three to seven 1.8 cm wide flowers.


Plant is found growing on cactus and rocks from Mexico to Peru and Venezuela at elevations from 0 to 1600 meters


Plants grow in warm conditions and can be grown in medium size fir bark with perlite. Plant prefers drying periods between watering and bright light is recommended. Lengthen drying period a bit in the winter.
