Platystele jungermannioides is an epiphytic orchid in the genus Platystele.

DescriptionEdit

Plant blooms in the spring with two to three 2.5mm wide flowers.

DistributionEdit

Plant is found in the lower cloud forest of Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 200 to 1000 meters

CultureEdit

Keep plant in shade. Plant must be grown mounted on bark with some sphagnum moss. Spray it regularly with pure water, don't let it completely dry out between waterings and maintain high humidity. This species is a perfect vivarium plant since it does well under artificial lights. It is a warm-growing species, it likes 25-27°C daytime and around 18-20°C nighttime temperatures.
