Phalaenopsis sumatrana is an species in the genus Phalaenopsis.


Plant bloomss from spring to fall with five 7.6 cm wide flowers. Flowers are fragrant.

This species was originally collected in the Province of Palembang, Sumatra by Dr. Korthals before 1839.


Plants are found growing in the lowland montane forest of Philippines, Sumatra, Borneo and the Malay pennisula at elevations around 700 meters


Grow in intermediate to warm temperatures. Pot in medium fir bark and keep in partial shade. Water about once a week. Keep plant fairly moist but not wet.
