Phalaenopsis schilleriana is an species in the genus Phalaenopsis.

DescriptionEdit

Plant blooms in spring with 3 to 250 flowers. Flowers are fragrant and 8 to 9 cm wide.

This species was first introduced by Consul Schiller at Hamburg, Germany in 1859. He obtained it from Manila in 1858. It was described by Reichenbach in 1860.

DistributionEdit

Plants are found growing on high trees in Luzon and Philippines and its surrounding islands at elevations of 0 to 450 meters

CultureEdit

Grow in intermeidiate to warm temperatures. Pot in medium fir bark and keep in partial shade. Water about once a week. Keep plant fairly moist but not wet.
