Neottia is a genus in the orchid family made up of about 60 species.


Plants are found growing around the world from Temperate & Subarctic Northern Hemisphere to Northwestern Africa


It obtains its nutrients from a mycorrhizal fungus that is attached to a photosynthetic host plant.



Plants are named after its short rootstalk and roots that resembles a bird's nest.
