Maxillaria cacaoensis is a species in the Maxillaria genus.

Description[]

Plant blooms in the spring with a single 3 cm wide flower.

Distribution[]

Plants are found growing in the coastal cloud forest of Costa Rica at elevations around 100 to 1100 meters.

Culture[]

Plant can be grown in a fine bark medium, full sphagnum moss, or mounted on treefern or cork. Grow in cool to warm conditions with medium amounts of light. Water regularly and keep mix moist but not wet. Plant require semi-dry rest through the winter month.
