Guarianthe skinneri is a plant in the genus Guarianthe.

DescriptionEdit

Plant blooms from winter to spring with four to fifteen 8.75 cm wide flowers. Flowers are fragrant. It is the national flower of Costa Rica.

DistributionEdit

Plant is found on tree branches in the humid forest from Chiapas, Mexico, Guatemala,Honduras,El Salvador, Nicaragua to Costa Rica at elevations of 200 to 2300 meters

CultureEdit

Plants should be grown in medium fir bark with partial to full sun. The plant should be grown in a intermediate to warm environment. Water approximately once a week. To induce blooming, reduce watering during the winter. Plant can also be mounted.
