Zelenkoa onusta is an epiphytic orchid from South America. It use to be called Oncidium onusta, But was moved to its own genus by Chase and Williams in 2001.
Description[]
The plant depends on fog for water in the wild. Plant blooms from summer to fall and flowers are yellow and 2 cm wide.
Distribution[]
Zelenkoa onusta is a desert growing epiphyte that grows on cacti of Ecuador and Peru. Plant is found in elevations of 25 to 1200 meters.
Culture[]
Plant prefers intermediate temperature and is grown in bright light. The plant is best mounted or grown in a well drain mix. To water the plant spray the root system. After blooming reduce watering and fertilizing until new bloom is seen.
