Plant blooms in the winter with four to five 4.5 cm wide flowers.
Distribution[]
Plant is found in the cloud forest of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia around elevations of 2000 to 2800 meters
Culture[]
Plants are difficult to grow in cultivation. They require shady and cool conditions. Plants require high air circulation to prevent fungal rot and constant misting. Plants require frequent waterings. Plants can be grown in sphagnum moss or mounted. Do not allow potting media to ever dry.
