Paphiopedilum micranthum is a species of Paphiopedilum found in Asia.

Description[]

Plant blooms in the late winter to early summer with a single 10 cm wide flower.

Distribution[]

Plants are found growing on cliffs and crevices, which contain a mixture of leaf litter, limestone, and clay in Northern Vietnam and Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou provinces of China at elevations of 360 to 1600 meters. In the winter the area is subjected to drizzle and fog. During late spring to fall there is heavy rain in the area.

Culture[]

Plant should be kept in a moderately shaded area. Temperatures should be kept around 30° to to 88°F. Keep mix moist but not wet. Water once a week and two times a week in hot summers. Keep the humidity around 40 to 80%. Pot in a mix of medium bark and perlite and repot after flowering and about every three years. To induce blooming keep plant cool in the winter.
