Paphiopedilum wentworthianum is a species of Paphiopedilum found in Asia.
Description[]
Plant blooms from winter to spring with a single 8 cm wide flower.
Distribution[]
Plants are found growing deep in the forest in humus, moss and leaf litter in Kieta and Bougainville in the Solomon Islands at elevations of 820 to 1800 meters. The habitat is constantly wet and has infrequent rains during the summer and heavy rains during the winter.
Culture[]
Plant should be grown in areas with shade and intermediate temperatures. Pot in a well drain and open mix such as medium fir bark, perlite and sphagnum moss. Water regularly about every three to four days. Keep the potting media moist but not wet. Do not let media dry out. To induce blooming reduce watering between seasons. Plant is sensitive to salts. Keep humidity high.
