Plant blooms in the spring with a single 8.25 cm wide flower.
Distribution[]
Plants are found growing in the mangrove swamps on moss covered rocks and in leaf litter in East Malaysia and Borneo at elevations of 0 to 1115 meters. The habitat is constantly wet and subjected to heavy rain during the fall, hot and humid weather during the spring, and drizzles during the summer. Summer is the coolest month.
Culture[]
Grow in intermediate to warm temperatures of 60° to 80°F in the summer and 78° to 57°F in the winter. Grow in partial shade. Potting media should be open and well drained. Water frequently during summer and growing season. Keep plants in shade when flowers appear to retain a rich color. To bloom the plant reduce water and temperature for a short time in the winter.
