Ophrys argolica is a plant of the family Orchidaceae, a native of Greece.

Distribution[]

Plant is found in the open pine forest and grasslands of Greece 0 to 1300 meters in elevation.

Description[]

Plant blooms in spring with 3.2cm flowers. Flowers are pollinated by bees.

Culture[]

Plants prefer well-drained low-fertility soils and areas with medium amounts of light. Orphrys argolica is cool to cold growing. Plants are very sensitive to the addition of fertilizers or fungicides and transplanting because it kills symbiotic fungus. The plant is usually propagated through seed culture. This species is cool to cold growing. Divide plant when flower fades.
