Gastrochilus obliquus is an species in the genus Gastrochilus.

Description[]

Plant blooms from fall to winter with up to eight 2.5 cm wide flowers.

Distribution[]

Plants are found growing in the dense forest of the Himalayas, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar, northern Thailand, southern China, northern Laos and Vietnam at elevations of 800 to 1400 meters

Culture[]

Plants are best grown hanging in baskets or mounted and usually require moderate shade and warm temperatures. Water frequently during growing season and reduce watering after flowering. If hanging the roots must be watered frequently. Plants should be grown in media that is well drained such as tree fern fibers (for small plants), medium fir bark, or sphagnum moss.
