Plants bloom in the summer with 1 to 2 flowers. The plant usually self pollinates.
Distribution[]
Plant is found growing in limestone soil in the forest of Hokkiado, Japan; Sakhalin Island, Russia; Shanxi, Hubei, Ningxia, Gansu, Quinghai, and Sichuan provinces of China at 0 to 3100 meters in elevation.
Culture[]
Grow in partial shade in cool temperatures. Plant can be grown in full gravel or full lavarock. Plant may be subjected to rot when divided.
