Cattleya mendelii is a plant in the genus Cattleya.

Description[]

Plant bloom in the spring with four to five flowers. Flowers are fragrant and 17.5 to 20 cm wide.

Distribution[]

Plant is found growing on rocky cliffs of Eastern Cordillera of the Colombian Andes at 700 to 1000 meters in elevation.

Culture[]

Plants should be grown in medium fir bark with partial to full sun. Cattleya mendelii is a cool to warm growing orchid species. Water approximately once a week. Plant can also be mounted.
