Bonatea speciosa is a species of Bonatea endemic to Africa.

Description[]

Plant blooms at any season with about fifteen flowers. Flowers are 5 cm wide and has a strong sweet scent. Plant is pollinated by hawk moths.

Distribution[]

The plant is found in coastal areas and open deciduous woodlands and forest edges at elevations of 0 to 1200 meters in elevation.

Culture[]

Plants are best grown in a well drain sandy mix. Usually sand and soil is used for the mix. Temperatures should be cool to intermediate. Water regularly during summer growing during season. Reduce watering during fall to winter to about once every two weeks and Keep the mix moist but not damp. During spring and winter seasons, keep the mix moist but not wet until a shoot emerges and then gradually change to watering once a week as summer approaches. Plant grows in full sun to medium light.
