Plant is found in the thin humus layer of the dry forest in French Guiana at elevations around 630 meters
Plant blooms with around four 5mm wide flowers. The plant is a saprophytic orchid.

Etymology: Name after Dermaptera the insect order which the earwig belong to, because of the of the similarities of the labellar appendages.
