Cypripedium flavum, is an orchid that is native to China in the genus Cypripedium. A red variant also exist in Yunnan.


Plants bloom in the summer with one 6 to 9 cm flower


Plants are found in coniferous areas under trees in limestone rich soil at elevations of 2700 to 3700 meters. The plants are found in Xizang, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hubei, and Gansu, provinces of China.

Plant should be grown in partial shade. Potting media should not be wet during the winter. The pH must be around 7 and the compost should not hold much moisture.
