Cynorkis abbreviated as Cyn. in horticultural trade, is a genus of around 150 species.


Plants are found in Madagascar, the Comoros Islands, the Mascarenes and Mainland Africa


Plants areThe lip of species is usually three to five lobes and usually larger than the petals.


Grow in cool to warm conditions with moderate to bright light. Water the plant right before the potting mix starts to dry. Plants should be potted in a humus rich free draining terrestrial compost. After blooming plants will die back and the mix should be kept dry until new growths appear.


The plant is named after its small root nodules
