Cymbidium atropurpureum is a species of Cymbidium which is found in Asia.


Plant flowers in the summer to fall with several 3.5 cm wide flowers. Flowers are fragrant with a scent of coconut.


Plant is found growing on rocky slopes and as a terrestrial in Southern Thailand, Central Malaysia, Vietnam, Borneo, Sumatra and the Philippines at an elevation around 1630 meters.


Plant should be grown in cool to warm areas with medium to bright light. Pot with bark and perlite. Plant prefers dry periods between watering. Reduce watering during the winter. Water about once a week.
