Cryptopus, abbreviated as Crypt. in horticultural trade, is a genus of the Orchid family (Orchidaceae).
Plants are found in Madagascar, Reunion Island and the Mascarenes.
Plants are similar to the genus Neobathiea but distinguished by the lobbed petals and spurs. Plants have elongated stems that attach to twigs and branches.
Plants are best grown hanged in baskets and on mounted and usually require shade and cool to warm temperatures. Plants must be watered frequently in the summer and reduced to a daily misting during the winter except for warm winter days. Plants should be mounted on bark. Keep humidity high.
The genus is named "hidden foot" after its hidden pollina.
