Cattleya violacea is a plant in the genus Cattleya.


Plant blooms from late spring to summer with three to seven 13 cm wide flowers.


Plant is found growing on trees in Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador at elevations of 200 to 700 meters


Plants should be grown in medium fir bark with partial to full sun. The plant is a warm growing orchid species. Water approximately once a week. Plant can also be mounted.
