Catasetum alatum is a recently discovered species of Catasetum from South America.

Description Edit

The epiphyte grows in hot climates and is small. The inflorescence has 6 or more flowers each about 7 cm (2.8") wide.

Distribution Edit

The plant is found in Brazil, in the Amazon rainforests at elevations from 100 to 200 meters.
