Plants in this genus are distributed from Sri Lanka, Java, Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra, to Northern Australia


Plants in this genus have a creeping rhizome and one to three leathery leaves.


Plant should be grown in a shady area with cool to intermediate temperatures. plants should be watered two to three times a week with dry outs between watering. Plants should be potted in medium fir bark with perlite or in sphagnum moss. Reduce watering during the winter.


The genus is named after bryon meaning moss and bios meaning life referring to its epiphytic habitat.
