Barlia is a genus composed of two terrestrial growing orchid species.
Distribution[]
This genus is distributed throughout the Mediterranean areas of Europe. Plants are found growing among grasses in open woodland areas.
Description[]
Plants are terrestrial and arise from tubers. Plants bloom on a inflorescences with a cluster of flowers.
Culture[]
Plants should be grown a cool area with moderately bright light. Pot the plants in a well drain medium. Water regularly in the fall about every one to three days. Withold watering after leaves and spikes die away and plant becomes dormant, until new shoots appear.
Naming[]
This genus was name after Barla a Brazilian botanist.
