Ascocentrum garayi is an species in the genus Ascocentrum.

DescriptionEdit

Plant blooms in spring with many 2cm flowers. The plant is very similar to Ascocentrum miniatum by having very elliptical petals and sepals, a straight lip, and solid color flowers.

DistributionEdit

Plants grow in humid forest of Laos, Vietnam and Thailand at elevations of 0 to 1000 meters.

CultureEdit

Plants are best grown hanged in baskets and on mounted and require bright to full sunlight and intermediate to warm temperatures. If hunged the roots must be watered frequently. Slightly reduce watering in the winter. Plants should be grown in media that is well drained such as tree fern fibers (for small plants), several pieces of coarse fir bark, or sphagnum moss.
